Biography
John Krasinski was the youngest (and, at 6 feet, 3 inches
(190 cm), the shortest) of three sons; the tallest is 6 feet, 10
inches (208 cm). His father is Boston internist Dr. Ronald
Krasinski and his mother is a nurse.
Krasinski graduated from Newton South High School in 1997 and
from Brown University in 2002 as an honors playwright. His elder
brother Paul also attended Newton South High School in 1994, and
Brown University in 1998.
Krasinski's first stage experience was starring in a satirical
high school play written and cast by B.J. Novak, now a writer
and co-star on The Office.
John later studied one semester at the Eugene O'Neill National
Theater Institute in Waterford, Connecticut and currently lives
in New York City.
John Krasinski's feature-film credits include Kinsey, starring
Liam Neeson and Laura Linney, and Duane Hopwood starring
David Schwimmer
and Janeane Garofalo, which premiered at the Sundance Film
Festival. He also appeared in the film Jarhead, starring Jake
Gyllenhaal and directed by Sam Mendes. Among Krasinski’s
television credits are appearances in NBC’s Law & Order:
Criminal Intent, Ed, and a 2005 episode of CBS’s CSI: Crime
Scene Investigation.
Krasinski is represented by Suskin Management and Creative
Artists Agency.
John Krasinski was recently featured in People Magazine's
s--iest men alive issue. As of Spring 2006, he is rumored to be
dating actress Rashida Jones, daughter of music producer Quincy
Jones and actress Peggy Lipton.
It was revealed that John Krasinski previously interned for the
Late Night with Conan O'Brien during an interview with O'Brien
that aired on November 2, 2005.
Krasinski is also the narrator for a series of commercials for
Ask.com starting in March, 2006.
