Annabella Sciorra, an Italian American, was
born in Wethersfield, Connecticut. At age 11, her family moved
to New York City, where as a teenager she began taking acting
lessons. She attended South Shore High School in the Canarsie
neighborhood of Brooklyn.
Annabella Sciorra first came to widespread attention in her
co-lead role in Spike Lee's 1991 Jungle Fever. She is also
familiar to many viewers as Tony Soprano's mistress, Gloria
Trillo, in the HBO series The Sopranos, for which she received
an Emmy nomination.
Annabella Sciorra also made a guest appearance in the first
episode of Law & Order: Trial by Jury. Recently, she joined the
cast of Law & Order: Criminal Intent as Detective Carolyn Barek,
partner to Detective Mike Logan who is played by Chris Noth.
Sciorra was married to actor Joe Petruzzi from 1989 to 1993. She
has dated actor Bobby Cannavale since 2004. She currently
resides in Manhattan.
